At one time, the Edition Port Culinaire team still earned its money in classic advertising under the name of Ruhl-Agentur. From marketing to communication concepts to implementation of advertising and promotional campaigns, we acted primarily for brand-name products from the food sector and the glass, porcelain and hardware industry. And so, the table arts were always a topic of ours.
It was, therefore, a perfectly natural course of events to develop a brand in this sector whilst on the lookout for new and exciting assign-ments. We called it Port Culinaire. A culinary harbour as a trading post for knowledge, ideas and products around the world of food and innovative gastronomy. We set ourselves the goal of finding the best products and culinary hotspots in the world and of making sure that the restaurant industry and interested consumers know all about it. In addition, we also intended from the beginning to promote creative contact with foods in the kitchen and to foster responsible and sustainable production as well as introducing such methods.
So, we began to build up a network of food scouts and ground-breaking chefs who supported the project. The first outputs came in the form of commodity science books on the subject of fish and seafood, truffles or meat - always in collaboration with top chefs. And also with a chef's monograph, numbering amongst them the three-star chefs Christian Bau or Dieter Mueller. (mehr...)
